My campaign is more than just ideas. I have experience serving on the Council with a track record to prove where I stand.

In my short time serving on the City Council, I’ve been proud to have accomplished the following.

Human Rights:

  • voted YES to a separation ordinance preventing ICE from staging on Robbinsdale government property.

  • supported the Human Rights Commission’s priorities during Operation Metro Surge and beyond.

Privacy & ALPRs:

  • voiced my support for removing Flock cameras in Robbinsdale at the October 13th work session — the cameras were removed on Oct. 14th!

  • invited a representative from American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to present recommendations (or lack thereof) on future ALPR use at the October 20th Council meeting.

  • motioned to remove an item from the consent agenda on October 20th that would have initiated a 10-year contract with Axon, with the intention of holding a discussion at the following work session.

Affordability:

  • finalized the 2026 budget — a lower tax increase than last year’s by 1.5%.

  • testified at the Capitol, helping secure $3.1 million from the state to offset the costs of the public works facility.

Transparency:

  • organized a public forum on the North Memorial merger with the Attorney General’s office so constituent voices could be heard.

Relevant work experiences:

  • Minnesota Justice Research Center Policy Associate (present, 2 years)

    • I research how the criminal justice system is working in Minnesota and look for ways to improve equity, efficiency, and transparency.

  • Spanish Benefits Navigator with CAPI USA’s Immigrant Opportunity Center (2022-2024)

    • I guided Spanish-speaking families with applications for programs such as SNAP and MNsure, translating as we went and ensuring they could access basic needs.

  • Policy Research Fellow for Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs (2022-2023)

    • I researched and tracked bills relevant to MCLA’s agenda to determine future political strategy, as well as analyzing bills relevant to our Latino community.

  • Public Policy Intern with COPAL MN (2022)

    • I translated for Spanish-speaking employees facing wage theft, supporting their pursuit of legal services.

  • Public Affairs Specialist for Second Harvest Heartland (2024-2025)

    • At the state legislature, I advocated for Second Harvest Heartland — one of the nation’s largest food banks.

  • Alumni Advisory Board Member for Wallin Education Partners (present, 3 months)

    • Wallin Education Partners offered me a generous scholarship back when I was applying for colleges, so I am eager to serve on their Alumni Advisory Board!

    • Authored “State of North Minneapolis Report,” published by the Humphrey School, 2025, which outlined current economic development plans, barriers, and recommendations for North Minneapolis
